The fishing report for December will start back in the Gulf of Mexico. The Wrecks out back have been loaded with nice size mangrove snapper with the occasional nice size grouper and cobia showing up. As always the sharks have been fierce on the wrecks out back. The trips that I have run there this month have been very productive, with limits reached almost every time.
On the oceanfront the yellowtail and grouper fishing has also been very good. With grouper season coming to a close on January 1st it’s time to get out there and get them while you can. The offshore fishing has been very good here lately as well. With dolphin (mahi-mahi) still being caught. Sailfish are coming into the mix with the cooler weather this time of the year and also some very nice wahoo. The blackfin tuna and skipjack tuna have been feeding fiercely offshore. So if there’s tuna in the box, sushi is on the menu tonight.
